Fast, friendly and low key: perfect combo for an optometry shop. Dr. Szeto is great and the front office staff earn high marks. I was in and out for my first appointment in less than 30 minutes, also a plus. Highly recommend.

I will never go anywhere else for my glasses but this place. They have a well curated collection, and great staff. It's a hidden gem!

This is a great, friendly, beautifully decorated optometry office with a great selection of glasses. The staff are very welcoming and willing to help their costumers and not just make them buy frames.

Got my eyes checked for the first time in years at Loop. Wonderful service and people. And the space itself is gorgeous. Who knew a visit to the optometrist could be so enjoyable!

On Yelp
The best optometrist I visited since I live in the USA. They clearly understand your needs, do not pressure you to buy anything and give you the time to think about what works best for you. In my case I was debating between glasses and contact lenses and I was afraid to use lens. They made me try the lenses for free for some time and let me evaluate how I feel about it. They trained me to put my contact lenses and were very patient. Thanks to them I was able to switch to contact lenses and I put them in no time now. I had an amazing experience with them and will definitely come back.

Loop Optometry is such a breath of fresh air. I went for an eye exam and contact lens exam. I booked my appointment a week in advance and submitted the paperwork ahead of the time. On the day of exam, I got in and out of office within 30 minutes. They didn't try to up-sell me contact lenses or whatsoever. Dr. Szeto was nice, thorough, and efficient. Office staff were super friendly and helpful. Their glasses selection also looked great and I will surely come back when I need a new pair.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which insurance plans do you take?
We take either Vision Service Plan (VSP) or Eyemed. These are vision plans. Sometimes your insurance provider will contract out to these vision plans. For example, many people have Guardian which will contract out to VSP. If you provide us with the member name, date of birth and last four of their SSN (or member ID) we can search to see if you are in network with our office.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
Please bring any current eyeglasses and/or contact lenses or boxtops. If you have the actual prescription that is helpful too. During this pandemic please also wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth to your appointment.
Should I wear my contacts or glasses to my appointment?
If you are wanting to renew a contact lens prescription, ideally please wear your contacts to your appointment. That way the doctor can evaluate how your current lenses are working for you. If you have run out of contact lenses do not worry because we can always provide you with the trial lenses or order you some trial lenses if necessary.
Is there parking?
We are located between two smaller one way streets, Clementina and Tehama. You may be able to find some 1 hour parking there. Otherwise there is metered parking on Folsom or Howard.
Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?
Due to the current pandemic we ask that you come alone to your appointment. We have removed chairs in our waiting area. This is for your safety and the safety of our staff. We are trying our best to minimize contact among people in order to do our part in keeping everyone healthy. If a minor is the patient, a guardian may accompany the patient but will be asked to wait outside during the duration of the appointment. They may reenter to speak to the doctor or to assist the minor as needed.
